Last night’s episode of “The Biggest Loser, Couples,” proved women can do anything men can do. Wait, I already knew that, hmm, what did it prove then? Maybe that women can lose weight like men? Not sure if that’s true, so I guess it just proved Kelly and Ali kicked butt this week and dropped weight in numbers we’re used to seeing from the big boys. This is the first season I am watching this inspiring contest that’s been turned into a show. How many of us have participated in a contest like this at work or among friends? There are several scales strewn around our office of past contests that were started but never really took off. Who knows maybe if there was a $250,000 prize, we’d have some big losers in my office and I mean thin, healthy people. Continue Reading »

Read the lyrics to this song, start anew, and remember to find Love everyday!!
What’s wrong with the world, mama
People livin’ like they ain’t got no mamas
I think the whole world addicted to the drama
Only attracted to things that’ll bring you trauma
Overseas, yeah, we try to stop terrorism
But we still got terrorists here livin’
In the USA, the big CIA
The Bloods and The Crips and the KKK Continue Reading »
Spiritual Boot Camp - Part Two of ??
Linda on Mar 21st 2008
It’s a Good Friday. I completed three weeks out of six of a boot camp style workout. I joined the group of crazy people that call themselves Infinity Sport & Fitness in Westlake Village. For some reason, the boot camp came to me, they moved right into the building I work at. There is a plan! After asking my Mom and ex-husband to watch my son three nights a week, I joined. Splendid plan so far, the logistics were in place, now all I have to do is the incredibly tough feats they want me to. I pay them to do this to me? Continue Reading »
Happy St. Patrick’s Day

I’ve loved Claddagh rings ever since my obsession with the Irish band, U2 back in the 80’s. The first one I ever wore was a gift from my first boyfriend, who also loved the band. Neither one of us were Irish but we liked the symbolism. Two hands holding a heart that has a crown on top of it. The hands represent friendship, the heart obviously love and the crown loyalty. There is saying that goes along which describes the symbolism perfectly, “Let love and friendship reign.” Continue Reading »
Spiritual Boot Camp - Part One of ??
Linda on Mar 13th 2008
I’ve struggled with weight all my life. (see post “Weight, A Heavy Matter”) As a child I was underweight. My nickname was “Mr. Peanut,” kind of strange I guess my legs and arms were thin. I remember my mother hiding appetite enhancers in my Jell-O. The idea cracks me up as later on I needed to suppress my appetites or cravings. As I hit adolescence, I started to get heavy. I realize now when I look at pictures I was just changing from a skinny little “Mr. Peanut” into a woman. I always thought I was fat even if the photographs proved otherwise. Earlier this week I found some articles discussing weight and spiritual balance. God always knows what we need when we need it. Continue Reading »
Ponder This
Linda on Mar 12th 2008
If you want to lose weight, eat less, exercise more, it’s a simple idea, isn’t it? Here’s another one; “…seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” (Matt 6:33) Sometimes the most simple things in theory are the hardest to put into practice. Why? Good question, let’s ponder this.
Grace is Amazing
Linda on Mar 6th 2008
Today I watched “Amazing Grace.” It’s a beautiful movie about William Wilberforce, a politician, philanthropist and a leading British abolitionist, who was Divinely inspired to become a fearless campaigner for the Slavery Abolition Act, which eventually passed in 1833. He died just three days after it passed. At the beginning of the movie he begins to speak to God in secret. When his butler finds him laying in the grass, he asks William if he found God. William answers, “He found me.” He talks about it being rather inconvenient and struggles on whether to do the work of God or the work of a political activist. He learns he can do both “praise God and change the world.” If you’re wondering how the hymn “Amazing Grace,” is connected in the movie, his preacher and friend was John Newton, a captain of slave ships “who repented his sins and wrote this song.” John Newton is portrayed by Albert Finney and by the time he begins to write his life story he’s blind, “yet he sees.” Continue Reading »
